Providing Proof of Vaccination

Full details on ‘Proof of Vaccination’ are available on the WA government website

We highly recommend the use of the new ServiceWA app if possible, as it’s the most efficient way and will help reduce the time to enter the facility.

Upon Entry to the centre you will be required to:

  1. Sign in digitally via the SafeWA or ServicesWA app or Manual sign-in sheets
  2. Show proof of your COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical exemption
  3. Show photo ID (if required)
  4. Scan your membership token at entry point to access facilities, or pay casual entry if applicable

Please note, the above entry requirements apply to all patrons entering the centre, regardless of being a member or non-member.

We ask that you please allow enough time to check-in to classes by arriving 10-15 minutes earlier.

There are some exemptions and alternative directions that may apply to some users including:

  • Those with approved medical exemptions Immunisation medical exemptions - Australian Immunisation Register - Services Australia
  • Children aged under 16 years of age

The information below is correct at the time of publishing.  We will endeavour to update this information in a timely manner should any directives change.

What does “fully vaccinated” actually mean?

A person who is fully vaccinated has had at least two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Your certificate stored in a smartphone’s wallet, along with an acceptable form of identification

2. Children aged 10 to 15 years can enter the GLC without a parent or guardian and do not require to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption.

Whilst it is not mandatory for children under 16yrs to sign in, we encourage everyone to use either the SafeWA, ServiceWA or manual sign-in so you can be contacted directly if the Centre is declared an exposure site.

Please note:  GLC Staff/Representative will ask for ID if they think someone is 16yrs and over.  Please bring proof of age, as staff will not have access to the membership database to check details.  This will help eliminate any confusion and speed your entry up.

3. Children under 10 years of age are not required to be fully vaccinated however, they must be accompanied into the Centre by a parent/guardian who will need to meet the conditions of entry for a person who is 16yrs and over.

Can I drop my 9 year old off at the door so they can attend their activity at the GLC?

No, every child under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian every time they visit the Centre.  Parents/guardians will need to meet the conditions of entry for a person who is 16yrs and over or the accompanying child will be refused entry.

Acceptable forms of proof include:

  • The ServiceWA app
  • Your COVID-19 digital certificate from myGov or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.
  • Your certificate stored in a smartphone wallet, along with an acceptable form of photo identification.
  • Hard copy of your certificate, along with an acceptable form of photo identification.

  • A hard copy of your certificate, along with an acceptable form of photo identification.
  • A hardcopy of your immunisation history statement, along with an acceptable form of photo identification.

Why do I need to be fully vaccinated to use the aquatic facilities or stadium to attend community sport?

No, updated vaccination mandates currently only apply to gyms, indoor sporting centres, health clubs or dance studios, including a centre offering fitness classes, but exclude Indoor and Outdoor Pools and Community Sport.

Why do I have to show you my vaccine record and ID every time I attend the centre?  Can’t you record that you’ve seen my proof?

Our electronic customer management system is located at Reception which is centralised within the building.  We are not able to relocate this system to the front entry before 31st January, 2022, which means we have no customer database to refer to.  The GLC team are working on ways to address this operational issue as soon as possible.

What if I’ve had one vaccination and I’ve booked for my second, can I still access the gym or attend a group fitness class the GLC?

No, you cannot attend any fitness classes or access the gym until you have been fully vaccinated (at least double dose) however you are still able to access the aquatic facilities.

Please speak to our customer service team if you wish to amend your membership to Swim Only as a result of the restrictions.  You also have the option of placing your membership on hold (suspension).  To suspend your membership you need to complete a suspension form or email us requesting your membership is placed on hold.  Suspensions can be applied for a maximum 3 months initially.

Why do I need to check-in using the ServiceWA app or manual check-in system, if I am a member who also scans in using my membership token?

We understand this may appear to be duplicating, however the check-in systems are separate and will allow the State Government to easily contact you in the event if the Centre is declared an exposure site.

Yes, unless you are able to provide proof of your own medical exemption for masks.
